Owned by BHP Billiton, Yandi is an open-cut iron ore mine operating 24hrs a day 365 days a year. Yandi is one of three mines in the Pilbara region managed by HWE Mining for BHPB Billiton. It is one of the world’s most premier iron ore mines excavating 56 million tonnes of material and 55 million tonnes of ore per annum. The ore is railed to Port Hedland where it is loaded and shipped to overseas customers. Production at Yandi has steadily increased over the years with HWE Mining handling over 40+ million tonnes of iron ore per year at the mine.

What skills and experience do you need?

To be successful for this position you have be able to clearly demonstrate that you have previous experience carrying out workshop and in pit repairs / maintenance on a range of mining/earthmoving and allied equipment. As well as maintaining responsibility for ensuring company policies and procedures including Quality Assurance and Safety are adhered to:

· Must have Australian Recognised Trade Qualification as an Auto Electrician

· A/C Certificates

· Excellent fault finding skills

· Ability to solve practical problems

· The ability to identify and address hazards in the workplace

· Previous FI:FO or DI:DO mining experience is highly desirable.

Ensuring all civil engineering project work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices.
Organising and Supervise all Civil Engineers to prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all civil engineering project work and ensures project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.
Tracking delivery schedule to ensure dates are being met
Liaising with Lead Designer to ensure sufficient drafting resources are available.

To be considered the successful candidate you MUST have:
An engineering degree qualification.
Experience on large-scale engineering and/or infrastructure projects.
Perth based design experience, EPCM experience highly regarded
Earthworks, roads, drainage and water background is highly regarded.
